Original Vintage: Silk Coronation Handkerchief of King George V1 & Queen Elizabeth 1937

A soft crepe cream printed silk square unused with the original sticker of Coronation Handkerchiefs. The delicate printing of this piece is exquisite the centre has the oval framed portraits of the King and Queen there are then boarders of flowers of Tudor roses, Scottish thistles, Irish Shamrocks, a further boarder or Kings Crowns, GR initials at each corner the 1937 date in red and blue is sprinkled all around with further royal items including Sceptre and Orb boarder the edge.

George V1 was king of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, 11 December 1937 - 1910 until his death on 6thFebruary 1952. He was concurrently the Emperor of India until the British Raj was dissolved. King George V1 became King, and his wife Elizabeth became Queen following his brothers King Edward V111 abdication due to the British Government, public and the Church of England condemning his decision to marry the American divorcée Wallis Warfield Simpson.
