Label: Jean Varon (John Bates) known for his designs of sheer panels, short hemlines and bare midriffs, he was one of the pioneers of the miniskirt and trousers for women.

Please note the dress is bigger than the mannequin, once the bodice is filled out the bust line will be higher. 
 
Fabric: Bodice and skirt part of dress are black, slub dupion heavy weight (like a raw silk) back and front boned bodice has been overlaid with the chiffon, neckline and sleeves are sheer chiffon the gown is lined in black acetate.
Style: A designer full length fitted gown with a boned bodice with sheer feature sleeves and neckline.
Features: The dress is all about the sleeves they are a stunning balloon style with horizontal pin tucks gathered into a long slim frilled cuff with 7 round covered buttons closed with little press studs. The dress is simple elegant slim line with a boned bodice 
Closure: metal zip down centre back with tiny hooks and eyes at middle and top. 
Ideal to wear for: Red Carpet, Ball, Special Event 
Vintage Condition: Excellent Vintage Condition: appears unworn, there are a few stitches at end of zip.
