Original Vintage: 1950s inspired 1990s Black Milliner Made Wide Brimmed Straw with Gold Silk Trim
 
This hat was made in England by a Milliner for a Lady who was the attending her son’s wedding.
 
A stunning hat with a beautiful line the closely woven black straw has a narrow black petersham edge trim, the oval shaped crown has a beautifully contrasting gold slub silk dupion, pleated around it with a large bow at the centre back. The brim starts flat at the centre back and has a gentle upward curve towards the front, the brim is also wider at the front.

Width of Brim at front: 5“ (12.5 cm) flat plus a 1” (2.5 cm) turn up 
Width of Brim at Back: 2 ½ “(6.5 cm)
Inside round opening measures 22" (56cm)
Width of Bow: 11 “(28 cm)
