Fabric: A quality medium weight 1950s cotton print I would say with my experience of handling vintage fabric it is a Horrockses Cotton Print it is crisp has a beautiful cotton thread count. The pattern is also a typical beautiful Horrockses design it has a soft white background with panels of varied different florals and stripes with vines and paisley running vertically. The colours are light grey, mid blue, emerald, green, deep pink with dashes of black.

Style: A classic 1950's relaxed fit and flare, Tea dress

Features: The bodice has an open revere type collar with darts at the waist on the front and back, with a fitted in sleeve. The skirt is attached to the bodice with full gathers, and so has a lovely fullness at the hem and a petticoat can be worn underneath to give it more flare. Top Tip do this and wear a wide blet if you want to make your waist appear smaller.

Petticoats both vintage and reproduction are available for sale in our Lingerie & Nightwear Collection. There are belt loops for a wide 3” (7.5 cm) the original belt is no longer with the dress.

Closure: The dress is buttoned at the centre front with three white buttons and one on each cuff, there is a side zip at the waist.

Ideal to wear for: The dress can be worn casually or dressed up for an event such as Goodwood Revival with a hat, gloves, bag and belt as shown is the photographs. The accessories are not included but are for sale on the accessory’s pages.
