Fabric: Soft ivory all over flower lace
Style: The gown is a style that was very popular in the late 1940s and into the 1950s, with a simple and beautiful line. The bodice is constructed with the lace fabric mounted onto an crisp ivory lining fabric and is fully fitted with bust and waist darts at the front and three waist darts at the back. The nipped in waist is further highlighted as it finishes in a beautiful, curved line ending in a point at the front and the back.
Features: The bodice has a flattering two-piece collar which frames the neckline, giving a ‘V’ neck finish at the front, finished with two working and 13 faux cover buttons and rouleau loops running down the centre. The skirts of stiffened light linen, ivory taffeta and lace have been softly gathered around the sides of the waist remaining flat at the front and back in the centres, creating a beautiful fullness of the lace as it falls to the hemline. The sheer sleeves have two little elbow darts and are finished with a point to echo the waistline.
Closure: There is a metal zip to the side and two buttons and mettle hook and eye to the front, there are also two tiny metal press studs at each wrist
